The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts an annual recruitment exam for the post of RBI Grade B officers. One of the specializations offered under this post is the RBI Grade B DEPR (Department of Economic and Policy Research). Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have completed a Master's Degree in Economics/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Mathematical Economics/ Integrated Economics Course/ Finance with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for the RBI Grade B DEPR exam.





Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 to 30 years of age as of the date specified in the official notification.


Selection Process: The selection process for the RBI Grade B DEPR exam consists of three phases:

Phase 1: Online Objective Exam Phase 2: Online Descriptive Exam Phase 3: Interview


Exam Pattern: Phase 1: The objective exam consists of multiple-choice questions and is conducted online. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and consists of 200 marks divided into four sections: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.


Phase 2: The descriptive exam consists of three papers, namely Economics Paper I, Economics Paper II, and English (Writing Skills). The duration of each paper is 3 hours and the maximum marks for each paper are 100.

Phase 3: The interview is conducted for a total of 50 marks.


Syllabus: The syllabus for the RBI Grade B DEPR exam includes topics such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Markets, International Economics, Monetary Policy, Public Finance, Econometrics, and Mathematical Economics.


Preparation Strategy: To prepare for the RBI Grade B DEPR exam, candidates should first understand the exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly. It is also important to refer to previous years' question papers and mock tests to get an idea of the type of questions asked in the exam.
